The NBA regular season entered its second week with a matchup between the undefeated Minnesota Timberwolves and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET Monday night at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.

A projection model from SportsLine simulated the contest 10,000 times and predicts a combined score of 236 points. This figure exceeds the current over/under line of 231.5. The model projects the over to hit in 56% of the simulated scenarios.

The statistical trend supports a high-scoring outcome. The over has been hit in the last four meetings between these two teams. In broader season context, the over has gone off the board in five of the last eight Minnesota games and seven of the last ten Cleveland games.

Cleveland enters the contest as a 5.5-point favorite. The Cavaliers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 125-121 on Saturday. Minnesota beat the Toronto Raptors 117-94 on Sunday. The Timberwolves hold a 3-0 record and are 2-0 on the road. Cleveland is 1-1 overall and 1-0 at home this season.

Anthony Edwards, who leads Minnesota in scoring, is listed as questionable due to a knee injury management protocol. He averages 28.7 points, five rebounds, 3.3 assists, and two steals in 31.3 minutes over three starts. Donovan Mitchell anchors the Cleveland offense, averaging 27 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 35.5 minutes across two games.

The SportsLine model has operated since 2018 and reports nearly $19,000 in profit for players following its top-rated NBA picks. The model is currently 26-10 on top-rated spread picks dating back to the previous season. It also identified one side of the spread to hit over 60% of the time in its simulations, though the specific pick was held for subscribers.
